Brandt is accused of being involved with a cocaine importation syndicate that hid packages of the drug on Qantas and United Airlines passenger planes that flew from California to Sydney. It is alleged employees of an airline catering company then collected the packages.
Court documents filed at Central Local Court on Friday allege that between July and December 2007 at Sydney airport, Brandt conspired with Wayne Cleveland, Craig Nicholson and others to import a commercial quantity of cocaine.
It is also alleged that Brandt dealt with more than $130,000 in proceeds in crime between July and November of the same year. The 44-year-old remains in custody after appearing in Central Local Court on Friday.
She did not apply for bail and is set to reappear next month. It comes after her former boyfriend, Crusty Demons motorcycle stuntman Rusty Setser was extradited to Sydney to face charges over the alleged drug importation last month.
Like Brandt, he was being held in a US prison before his extradition.
