I hate to say this, but I'll have to admit that BYD cars and CATL batteries are getting better. CATL is able to sell their batteries to their domestic (Chinese) car makers at 50% price of what they are selling to their overseas buyers. BYD's LiFePO4 batteries are getting good reviews and international acceptance as a cheaper and worthy substitute to Lithium Ion batteries. I anticipate within the next 2 years, those LG Chem, SAMSUNG and PANASONIC battery makers will fold unless they can come up with something even more competitive than these 2 Chinese battery makers.

You are correct. Chinese are way ahead on battery technology which was abandoned by the west.
At the same time incentives given to EV's and penalties on new ICE car sales in China's big cities killed ICE sales.
