Justin Hui Chose To Spend Additional Year In JC To Represent Singapore In AFC Qualifiers
In academically-driven Singapore, a parent’s worst nightmare is hearing that their son wants to grow up to be a professional soccer player. After all, soccer players tend to be lowly paid, have little job security, and even worse progression prospects. A prime example is the fact that S.League clubs generally offer 11-month contracts, to avoid paying annual bonuses. With Singapore’s FIFA ranking slipping to an all-time low position of 173, there’s little chance of a Singaporean soccer player making it big these days.

Singapore football is a waste of time. The heydays of the 1970s are gone forever.

I hope 2018 will be the last season for Sleague and we can change into a semi-pro league like the FAS Premier from 1988 to 1995.

It is good to see players holding a full-time jobs and playing part-time football for passion.

The national teams and U23 should not participate the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 and SEA Games 2019. That will save unnecessary expenses when these teams are not ready to compete.

Countless students are retained for an additional year in JC to catch up with studies, because of their passion for their CCA sports in JC.
