A flight steward with Qatar Airways outraged the modesty of an undercover policeman in a toilet in The Verge shopping centre at Serangoon Road at 2pm on March 21.

When placed under arrest, Rinosh Joseph Noble, 33, tried to bribe his way out of trouble. He offered $100 to the cop and two other officers who were on anti-crime rounds at the shopping centre.

On Tuesday, Noble, an Indian national, was jailed a month and fined $10,000 for offering the bribe. He had received a stern police warning for molesting the officer.

His lawyer, Mr Subhas Anandan, said that his client was an exceptionally talented individual. having graduated with a first class honours degree in engineering in India. The court also heard that Noble was a very good singer and had qualified for vocal training at the London School of Music.
