They do very impressive work. In Myanmar alone (they work across many countries), thousands of poor villagers would have gone blind every year, if not for free eye surgery regularly performed by FFM staff (one of the main co-founders is a medical doctor who is currently a professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in NUS).

This reminds me of Dr Sanduk Ruit, a medical doctor who has, over the decades, tirelessly saved hundreds of thousands* of poverty stricken people (who can't afford surgery) from going blind, by performing free cataract surgery for them.

*It was documented that the team of international medical doctors led by Dr Sanduk Ruit performed 1,131 cataract surgeries in a single week.

The magnitude of helpful karma done by Dr Sanduk Ruit and his volunteers is staggering. Tremendous respect to Dr Sanduk Ruit and his volunteer medical doctors.

Google Dr Sanduk Ruit

Firefly Mission does the same on a smaller scale, but at the same time FFM does help out in many other ways (eg. education, food, infrastructure) as well.

Tremendous respect to FFM leaders and volunteers as well.
