A driver became the fifth man on Monday to be jailed for commercial sex with a 16-year-old student who was tricked into prostitution.
Babu Suppiah, 33, was among 10 men charged in June with paid sex with the girl who was procured by her pimps, who have been charged. He was jailed for 12 weeks after admitting to paying $400 for the girl's sexual services at Oxley 88 Hotel on Feb 19 this year.
The girl's alleged pimp, Malcolm Graham Head, 33, befriended her via Facebook last October and tricked her into believing that she was going to be a social escort with "fast cash'' and "high pay''. Head was assisted by his 19-year-old girlfriend.
Subsequently, the girl realised that she had to provide sexual services of all kinds to clients and not just accompany clients for functions and dinner only. At times, she was assaulted and fed with drugs to keep her awake when she did not want to serve clients.
