Malaysia has gone overboard with naturalised players since there are more than 20 of them in the national squad, which is enough to create 2 teams. During some recent games, only 1 Malaysian born player made the starting line-up. Instead of searching for players with a Malaysian parent or grandparent, the FAM has been trying to naturalise talented foreign footballers who play in the Malaysian League. If they have played at least 5 years in the MSL, then it is fine. However, FAM has gone for a quick fix through forgery.
