after two decades of failed attempts to seek government redress.
A support group for parents of the crackdown's victims said Monday that 73-year-old Ya Weilin's (轧伟林), father of Ya Aiguo
(轧爱国) body was found in an unused underground parking garage below his residential complex.
Ya Weilin and his wife, Ms. Zhang Zhenxia (张振霞), an affectionate couple, have two sons. The younger son, Ya Aiguo was shot
in the head by martial law troops in the vicinity of Gongzhufen (公主坟) in Beijing around 10 p.m. in the evening of June 3, 1989,
and later died in the No. 301 Hospital. He was 22 years old. His family members were not able to locate his body until June 5.
They buried him in Tianjin, their hometown.
Zhang Xianling, a member of the group, says Ya killed himself out of despair and to protest the government's long-standing
refusal to address the grievances of the victims' relatives.
His death comes about a week ahead of the anniversary of the night of June 3-4, 1989, when the military crushed the week long,
student-led protests, possibly killing thousands of students, activists and ordinary citizens.
