Local football fans are up in arms after the news that the S-League's new deputy CEO, Johan Gouttefangeas, is in fact a bankrupt.

Some Yahoo! users expressed their displeasure at his appointment on Facebook, and said the Football Association of Singapore should not have hired a candidate with a questionable financial background for such a key post.

Facebook user Peter Tan questioned on Yahoo Singapore's Facebook wall, "If he can't take care of his finances, can he take care of S-League (which has its own finance problems)? Surely there are other potential candidates?"

Bankrupted FT also take in....knn we really scraping the bottom of the barrel.........no sinkie good enough?

These were 'signals' floating around and yet, no checks made. Machiam never exercise due diligence, a very basic step in ascertaining one's background. If made and still missed coz overt records don't show, that's understandable. If never even attempt, need we say more? Zainuddin must learn to always question assumptions. Uncle baru PSLE pass also aware of this.

this case is just the tip of the iceberg.

remember:

a) Hwang Nah 's mother tried

to disfigure her thump print ?

b) Chinese national came back using
another identity to run his Bak Cho Mee stall ?

c) our own Loo Choon Beng changed name

to Ben Lui ?

Question is don't they have a question in the employee recruitment form to ask if the new employee has ever been declared a bankcrupt or in debt:confused:

If so it is a question of intergrity that such questions has to be answered in good faith by the employee.

If there aren't such questions in the recuritment administration as a last line of defence, serious admin loop holes and complacency.

This type of press statement treat readers as fools sibo:confused::mad:

"In a press statement released on Saturday night, Football Associaiton of Singapore said, "The selection committee identified and interviewed a handful of candidates for the position of S.League CEO in the past few months. After all the interviews were done, Mr Johan Gouttefangeas was deemed to be the best man for the role of Deputy CEO. We did our due diligence and ran checks which found nothing amiss. As far as the FAS management is concerned, we were not aware of his personal issues back in France."

Read post #8.

Or it was that fact conveniently ignored because it was deemed not important?

I suspect they were impressed when this Frenchman opened his mouth. many use their mouths to chari makan in the civil service. When speaking, very impressive but in reality, just a piece of shit.

There is also another point. People got ups and downs, so bankrupts can be given a second chance depending on the circumstances leading to the bankrupcties that may be reflective of the applitudes of the candidates.

But statements so far are on a merry go round:*:

Agree. Everyone deserve a 2nd chance.

In this case, three questions need answers. Was FAS aware of his background? Was there due diligence checks after all the 'noises'. Was Frenchman upfront with his status?

Unless a bankrupt is put in a position where independence is important in carrying out his/her duties, and lack of it would compromise the output.

If they so decide to sack him, then wasted expenditure in recruitment for failure in due diligence, for a simple and critial attribute in the candidate.....another question regarding the level of skill and attitude in the administration.

Second chance for the Frenchman or the incompetents who hired him?

Bankrupt shouldn't be given a 2nd chance, that includes Chee Soon Juan
