[h=2]PAP Deadly Weaknessses[/h]

We all behave according to our core values. So too do political parties. Which begs the question: what are the values of the PAP regime? To answer that question, it’s best to look at their actions not their words and see if such actions have a pattern or consistency if you like. Having governed Singapore for more than 40 years, it’s therefore safe to look at the PAP regime’s actions.
First off the block, is the PAP core value of repressiveness towards the opposition. Wikipedia defines political repression as the persecution of an individual or group for political reasons, particularly for the purpose of restricting or preventing their ability to take part in the political life of a society. For example, using the ISA and defamation suits, changing the Constitution to strip citizens of their basic political rights.
Flowing from this core value is the value of total control of almost all institutions ranging from the media, the trade unions, PA and the Law Society.
Another indisputable value of the regime is to make money out of its own citizens. HDB and LTA probably rake in more revenue than any government ministry or agency.
A lack of accountability and transparency also flows from this core value of repressiveness. To this day despite strident calls for the regime to disclose the true cost of HDB flats, the regime has thus far kept silent.
Arrogance is undoubtedly one of its values too, born out of its near total control of Parliament.
In the words of Abraham Lincoln; You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
Time the 60.1% who voted for the regime NOT to be fooled ALL THE TIME.

“I make no apologies that the PAP is the Government and the Government is the PAP.” – Lee Kuan Yew, Petir, 1982
Ironically, LKY himself warned Singapore of complacency but the regime itself fell into it. PM Lee is now presiding over shambles that have plagued the country.
