STOMPer Kevin was caught in a huge jam along Buffalo Rd leading all the way to Race Course Rd in Little India, which was caused by a group of private bus operators who had taken matters into their own hands and clogged up the two lane Race Course Rd with their vehicles.
A disgruntled Kevin describes the incident in an email:
“This happened on Sunday (Sept 12) at 11PM.
“After exiting the Tekka Market carpark and driving onto Buffalo Road, our vehicle was immediately caught in a traffic jam leading to the junction of Race Course Road.
“When I looked ahead, I realize that there was a massive fleet of private buses occupying the two lane Race Course Road.
“Every private bus within sight was trying to edge its way into the already congested road to pick up foreign workers who spent their evening at Little India, thus making the jam worse.
“To make matters worse, cars were piling up along the one way Buffalo Road and were constantly sounding their horns.
“A group of Cisco officers nearby appeared nonchalant about the whole situation and the entire jam persisted for a good 20 minutes until I called the traffic police to make a complaint.
“Shortly after, these officers sprang into action and started easing up the jam.
“This makes me wonder where the traffic wardens were.
“Why are private bus operators allowed to direct traffic? Untrained, they caused more harm than good!”
