SINGAPORE mounted its largest anti-terror drill on Monday, modelled closely on last November's Mumbai terrorist attacks.

Codenamed Northstar VII, the exercise tested the response of Singapore's emergency and security agencies in simulated attacks islandwide, including Orchard Road and Harbourfront.

One such 'attack' was on Sentosa Island, where terrorists stormed Siloso Beach, leaving dead bodies and a trail of destruction in their wake. Ambulances and fire trucks were deployed, and a police cordon was thrown around the scene of the 'carnage'.

The massive exercise involves more than 2,000 people from 15 agencies.
