Fake gun seized during raid

SHAH ALAM: A fake gun was among several items seized during a raid at a condominium unit used as a store for illegal DVDs.

Selangor police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Shukri Dahlan said that the raid began with the arrest of a Myanmar national in his 30s outside the condominium in Petaling Jaya at about 11.30am on Friday.

Police also detained two locals – a 41-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman – who were waiting at the basement carpark.

Following the arrests, DCP Shukri said that a Commercial Crimes Department team had inspected the unit where the Myanmar national had been staying and found 8,179 DVDs worth RM60,000 stashed away in boxes.

The local suspect, who was previously arrested for drugs use in 2006, later took police to a video shop at a mall where he surrendered a replica of a Glock 17 pistol.
