Fake car park coupons seller caught
Nearly 650 booklets of car park coupons, believed to be counterfeit, have been seized by the police in a Jurong residence yesterday.
A 32-year old Chinese man had earlier been arrested for selling the fake coupons at an open car park beside Kallang Walk.
Acting on a tip-off, officers from Central Police Division spotted the man selling them to passers-by.
Upon further checks, the man had in his possession 28 booklets of 1 dollar car park coupons believed to be counterfeit.
The suspect will be charged in court tomorrow for cheating offences.
If convicted, he's liable to a jail term of up to 10 years and a fine.
Police advise members of the public to buy parking coupons only from authorised URA or HDB parking coupon sales agents.
