The strategic idea of threat is exactly the same as decades ago, to arm Cuba neighbouring USA with new and effective strategic weapons, so that a gun barrel is directly aimed at USA point blank and just inches from their head.

This shipment of arms came just immediately after Cuba tricked Washington into a Normalized Ties and improved relations.

The Chinese government says it's working to help assist the crew of a Chinese vessel currently being detained in Columbia.

The ship was seized over the weekend in the port of Cartagena with cargo destined for Cuba.

Columbian authorities allege the Chinese ship is carrying illegal supplies.

The Chinese government is denying the allegation.

Foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying.

"As far as I know, the ship was carrying ordinary military supplies from China to Cuba, and no sensitive items were involved. Relevant cooperation does not violate Chinese laws and regulations, nor China's international obligations."

The ship was detained on Saturday by Colombian authorities after gunpowder and other military materials were found during an inspection.

The captain of the vessel is currently being detained.

一艘前往古巴的中国货轮3日在哥伦比亚被扣。法新社报道称，一名哥伦比亚检察官8日说，法官已经下令软禁货船的中国籍船长，该船长将被指控犯走私武器罪。据英国《简氏防务周刊》报道，哥伦比亚官方宣称，他们在这艘货船上找到99枚中国制造的导弹战斗部，具体型号尚不清楚。

中国外交部发言人华春莹4日针对此事表态说，这艘船装载的是中方向古巴出口的一般军品，无任何敏感物资，有关合作不违反中方法律法规，也不违反中国承担的国际义务，完全是正常的军贸合作。

一名中国军事专家10 日对《环球时报》记者说，按英媒所说的导弹型号看，都是性能比较落后、杀伤范围比较小的地空导弹，是纯防御性武器，不是敏感装备。这种装备的外销属于一般性的军品贸易。

观察者网军事评论员表示，中国很早就仿制了苏联S-75导弹系统，也就是长期担负我国国土防空重任的红旗-2导弹。在1986年，我国研制红旗-2B改进型导弹的时候，就为红旗-2改用了新型的战斗部。据资料称，实际是仿制了苏联的后期型S-75导弹的战斗部，引爆时产生的破片从早期的8000个增加到32000个，大大提升了杀伤效能。中国红旗-2导弹的最终改型是红旗-2J，其将原来复杂的多种雷达改为一种被动相控阵雷达，可同时攻击3个空中目标。其战斗部也有改进，改为“高能破片式”战斗部，其弹片数量减少为29500个，但破片初速提高到2500米/秒，此外，可能改进了引信系统。战斗部重量为195千克。

据国内媒体报道，我国新型无线电指令制导技术已经可以让导弹在70公里距离上获得50米的精度，而新型的战斗部杀伤半径可达150米，因此可确保用较老式的导弹获

Colombia discusses arms cargo aboard detained Chinese ship

Bogota, Mar 3 (EFE).- Colombian authorities on Tuesday confirmed they had found a large quantity of armaments and ammunition with irregular shipping documents on board the Chinese-flagged vessel Da Dan Xia, which was ultimately headed for Cuba but made a stop in Cartagena.

The ship's captain was arrested by Colombian authorities.

The national director for police departments with the Attorney General's Office, Luis Gonzalez Leon, said at a press conference that Colombian authorities began inspecting the vessel on Saturday at the Mamonal industrial zone port in Cartagena, where the ship had docked to unload other cargo.

During the search, authorities "found about 100 tons of gunpowder, some 2.6 million detonators, 99 missile warheads and about 3,000 heavy artillery shell casings," none of which were correctly registered on the shipping documentation.

"The documentation that the captain showed regarding the merchandise does not correspond to what was found," he said.

Therefore, Capt. Wu Hong, who is of Chinese nationality, "was taken into custody," the official said.

Photographs of the ship's containers released by the AG's Office show that the manufacturer of the cargo is China's Norinco Corp., which specializes in weapons development and military equipment for the Chinese army.

According to the firm's Web page, Norinco Group, which is comprised of 46 units scattered throughout China and dozens of branches abroad, produces tanks, multiple rocket launchers, anti-aircraft missile systems and conventional projectiles of all kinds, among other things.

The recipient of the weaponry appears to be Tecnoimport, a Havana-based company that imports technical supplies and which different sources link to the Cuban armed forces.

The Defense Ministry, consulted by Efe on the case, referred all queries to the Attorney General's Office.

According to the Cartagena daily El Heraldo, the ship was intercepted after "intelligence information" was developed alerting authorities to the presumed irregularity in its documentation.

The Bogota daily El Tiempo reported, meanwhile, that the ship arrived at Cartagena to unload piping for a petroleum firm, and all documentation for that procedure was found to be in order.

However, according to the paper, while the ship was in port anti-drug authorities, the AG's Office and the Colombian navy were alerted that there were also weapons on board.

"It's a mixed ship, it comes with three cargoes. One was left at Cartagena, continuing to Barranquilla and the final destination was Cuba," an anonymous source involved in the investigation told the press.

The Cartagena police, the Colombian navy and the anti-drug police have said that the investigation is being handled from Bogota by the Defense Ministry.
