Pretending to suffer from erectile dysfunction after a motor accident, a secondary school teacher persuaded a 13-year-old girl to send him more than 50 nude pictures and videos of herself.

He deceived the girl, who had never even kissed a boy, into believing that he loved her and that the only way for him to recover was to watch her perform indecent acts.

His WhatsApp messages to her, using the moniker "Sean Romeo", ran into more than 400 pages.

Yesterday, 47-year-old Kuang Liang Yong, who is married with two children, was jailed for 22 months and fined $500.

He had pleaded guilty to five charges. Three were of procuring the girl to commit an indecent act, and another for disorderly behaviour, for which he was fined. The other was for stalking another girl, aged 12.

The court heard how Kuang, who has since quit teaching, had first insidiously obtained the first victim's mobile number.

He was with his family at Sun Plaza, Sembawang, in early 2012 when he overheard her telling the counter staff at the arcade that she had lost her mobile phone. He thought she was adorable. He offered her the use of his phone so she could call hers. The girl's number was left in his phone's log.

He began texting her, sharing his sexual experiences. One text read: "i want u to make love with me, forever..." She was around 12 or 13 then. He suggested she take pictures of herself in the shower to send to him.

Sometime in August that year, he claimed he had been in an accident which left him impotent and depressed. From September till June 2013, he pushed her into sending him 57 nude photos and videos on 13 occasions.

He then asked her to share the numbers of three of her girlfriends on the pretext that his doctor told him he needed to see pictures and videos of young girls for his recovery. After she said no, he cut off contact with her in December 2013.

As for the second victim, Kuang had seen the Primary 6 pupil when he picked up his daughter from school on a few occasions last year.

He got her contact number on social media and pretended to be a Primary 6 boy from a poor background.

Using the name "Guardian Angel", he persistently sent her lengthy WhatsApp messages when she did not respond to him immediately. He expressed his love for her and kept her under close watch when he went to the school, detailing her movements in his messages.

Her father reported him to the police last September.

District Judge Terence Tay said he was particularly disturbed by how Kuang had tried to look for more girls, by asking the victim for the numbers of her friends.

"On all accounts, the statement of facts portrays the victim as a sexually inexperienced 13-year-old who had never kissed a boy before but was persuaded by the accused to engage in rather explicit sexual acts for him to satisfy his visual appetite," he added.

Kuang could have been fined up to $10,000 and/or jailed for up to five years under the Children and Young Persons Act; and for unlawful stalking, fined up to $5,000 and/or jailed for up to 12 months.
