The former head of the civil service here, Dr Andrew Chew Guan Khuan, died early on Wednesday of heart failure.
He was 82.
The medical doctor had a 52-year career in public service, including stops as director of medical services, permanent secretary in the health and finance ministries and the Prime Minister's Office, and as chairman of the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board and the Public Service Commission (PSC).
