Ex-cop jailed 3 weeks <!--10 min-->

A district court heard on Wednesday that Peck had no authority to log on to the system to get that information. According to court documents, Peck met his friend and a woman colleague in a pub on Jan 3. Two days later, the friend contacted Peck and asked him to check if the colleague had gone to the police to accuse him of raping her. Peck later confirmed a police report had been made. The name of the friend cannot be published as it could lead to the identification of the accuser. Peck could have been fined up to $5,000 and jailed for up to two years.
