Liew Mun Leong is a trusted lieutenant of both PY and HC. The son has been using his father’s Chinese connection and got caught out. Father had bailed him out previously but I understand that the decision to bankrupt was to quieten down the creditors and avoid the glare. Also problems with employer over running his own business said to be front running.

Bankruptcy is no longer a stigma as in the past. It’s a ploy to preserve family assets. Father still holds a the record for the highest bonus earned by public listed CEO - $20m and mind you it’s a GLC.

Don’t worry the guy is still driving around with lifestyle intact.

My toes are laughing at this pathetic attempt to lionize Liew Mun Leong. Capitaland was formed as part of a government portfolio restructuring exercise which resulted in a merger of 2 subsidiaries of DBS and ST. Liew, as a trusted henchman was simply appointed by Temasek to head the newly merged entity as a professional manager.

How on earth can he be described as Captialand's founding President and CEO in the normal sense of the word as we understand?
