Even a 3rd world country Vietnam’s government already cracked down on their own government officials with fake Southern Pacific University (SPU) degrees and MBAs.
Aren’t they putting our Singapore government agencies and companies to shame?

Official told to remove dubious degree from resume

Inspectors from the Communist Party Unit in the northern province of Phu Tho have told a high-ranking official to omit his dubious doctorate degree from his CV, Vietnamnet reported Wednesday. Mark Ashwill, former director of the Institute for International Education and managing director of Capstone Vietnam, a human resources development company, said the case of government officials using fake degrees also happens in the US. He said most of the officials whose misdemeanors are exposed end up leaving their post.
US educationist warns against unaccredited schools

Dr Mark Ashwill, former Vietnam director of the education NGO Institute of International Education, has listed 22 unaccredited US schools that have entered the Vietnamese education market. Most of them are based in California or Hawaii and offer online undergraduate and postgraduate courses. One of them, the American Pacific University, is based in Ho Chi Minh City, is run by an American-Vietnamese, and claims to be approved by the Vietnamese government.
