Stop being a moron who obsesses about 'sustainability', 'carbon emissions' or your 'carbon footprint', and you won't have this problem.

You are nothing more than a speck in the cosmos, the sheer hubris of fantasizing that your efforts in adopting 'green solutions' will help save the planet. All you're doing is enriching the companies, investors and interest groups that pushed for this.

You're fucked either way whether you're driving an EV or a gasoline car. You just choose your favorite poison.

For the long term, Lithium is not ideal nor viable. The scientists will have to come up with something more abundant and affordable, although some sacrifice to its range is to be expected.

hydrogen ok?

Instead of EV transportation, scientists should spend more time on developing teleportation technology.
If we can have portals on the internet, why can't we have them in real life ?
Just imagine an airport having filled with many different portals to many different countries like this ....

Better stock up those batteries before China gets sanctioned.

Hydrogen is highly flammable, so not very safe. Besides, to mass produce hydrogen would still require electrolysis and hence vast amount of electricity.
Nuclear is the only carbon neutral realistic option. But japan and germany have decided to ditch it causing spike in lng price since 2012.
Hydrogen if produced by green renewable sources, will be able to produce just 20MT from 1200MWhr of electricity at maybe 75% efficiency of electrolysis machine. If stored, its quite a big volume due to its low density.
Storing hydrogen in pressurised containers need 700bar requiring huge smount of energy. Losing maybe 3% per day due to its puny nature.
Or cryogenic tsnks st -253 deg C.again huge amount if energy required.
Or convert hydrogen into green ammonia gas which is snother energy consuming process.
But a new revolutionary process has been announced that actuslly stores hydrogen at ambient pressure and temperature. Due to this nature its light and can be transported easily with zero loss. Lets see how this transpire.
Using hydrogen to produce electricity from fuel cell means another 20% drop in efficiency.

Currently Nothing can beat coal, oil and gas from nature as its found free and already processed and ready to be used.
