Scenes of an erotic film were accidentally broadcast on a large outdoor LED screen in northeastern China's Jilin province. The incident on June 26 attracted a large number of passersby who gathered to watch, reports the Chinese-language Beijing Times.

Xin Jin Ping Mei, a Hong Kong film adapted from a famous erotic Chinese novel written in the late Ming dynasty (1368-1662), was broadcast for 10 minutes on a LED screen on the roof of the Kaixuan building, which is about 200 meters away from the Jilin Railway Station.

The police found the screen had been turned off when they arrived at the building. The screen belongs to the Southern Advertising Company, which hired a technician surnamed Yuan from Fujian Kewei Optical Company to carry out routine maintenance work.

Yuan told the police that he thought he had disconnected the screen before beginning to watch the film on the screen's computer. However, he was mistaken and accidentally broadcast the film until he received a call from Southern Advertising Company.
