Thin may not be "in" much longer. The editors of all 19 Vogue magazines have made a pact to encourage
a healthier body image, launching "The Health Initiative." Whether on the runway or the covers of magazines
ultra-thin supermodels have been fashion industry heavyweights for decades. But it’s a look poised for a
major makeover thanks to a pact made by Vogue editors to use healthier-looking models, beginning with
the June 2012 issue.
It’s a move welcomed by Sara Ziff, a fashion model of more than 15 years and founder of The Model Alliance,
which has been challenging the industry obsession with being very young, and very thin.
