An elderly woman has died while walking her dog at Perfume Point, Ahuriri in Napier this morning.

Police were alerted to the death when members of the public noticed the woman's dog running loose in the area.

A police spokeswoman said the woman's body was found on rocks next to a boardwalk at Perfume Point, a coastal reserve area in Ahuriri.

Police said the circumstances of her death were not suspicious at this stage.

knowing him, he gets very uptight about anything and everything that's chinky and from china - perhaps that dog species, being a rarity there (unlike sheep) was imported from china, same as the basikal with the missing seat
