Elderly woman sexually assaulted and robbed in her Johor home

ISKANDAR PUTERI: An elderly woman was sexually assaulted before she was robbed at her house in Taman Skudai, early yesterday morning.
In the 3.30am incident, the 65-year-old housewife was asleep when she suddenly heard what sounded like someone opening the window.
Iskandar Puteri District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said the senior citizen was shocked to find a dark-skinned man, believed to be a foreigner, standing in his underwear in front of her.
"The man who was holding an iron rod in his hand ordered the senior citizen to remain silent and take off her clothes, so that he could rape her.
"The frightened victim just obeyed before the suspect attempted rape on her but failed.
"The suspect then just ejaculated on the victim's mattress before forcing her to give him RM500 and left," he said in a statement, today.
Dzulkhairi said police arrested a 26-year-old Bangladeshi man, who is believed to be the main suspect, following the victim's report and investigation.
He said two other Myanmar nationals, aged 21 and 26, who were believed to be accomplices were also arrested not far from the scene, trying to escape.
"All three foreigners, who are construction workers were arrested at about 2.30pm, not far from the scene.
"Police also confiscated several pieces of evidence believed to be used in the robbery, including an iron rod, a lever, a gray boxer shorts and a mobile phone," he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 392/397 of the Penal Code for armed robbery, Section 354 of the Penal Code for trespassing and Section 6 (1) © of the Immigration Act.
All suspects will be brought to the Johor Bahru court to be remanded.
