SINGAPORE - Eight people have been arrested on suspicion of selling counterfeit goods, following a series of police raids in Geylang, Tanjong Pagar, Simei and Bedok.
Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) also seized about 3,000 counterfeit items during the raids, conducted between April 6 and April 22.
The goods include mobile phones and accessories, luxury watches, handbags, costume jewellery and ladieswear, and have an estimated street value of nearly $100,000.
The suspects - five men and three women aged between 29 and 72 - are believed to have been selling the goods at makeshift stalls, commercial buildings and online.
