Today is the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival holiday in China. Below is a fun story Allison translated last month but had not been published. If you celebrate this holiday, hope you have a good time with your family and enjoy your mooncake! — Fauna

From NetEase:

Drunk Man Strayed Into Cargo Container, Almost Shipped Abroad

On August 9 around 4am, a drunk man surnamed Jiang from Shandong Qingdao mistook a cargo container as his [work] dorm room, opening the door of the cargo container and immediately falling asleep. At 7:20am in the morning, the lifting of the cargo container shook Jiang awake, and he found himself trapped in the cargo container. He contacted his co-workers right away. His co-workers reported the situation to the police in time. As Jiang was unable to provide the accurate location of where he was trapped, as soon as Qingdao Development Zone police received the report, [the policy department] dispatched 40 police personnel to all Qingdao ports with cargo containers for search and rescue.

Through constant phone contact with Jiang, Jiang finally found the serial number of the cargo container, and [police] finally located the cargo container that Jiang was trapped in. The freight yard also dispatched 60 staff members [to assist the] police in searching. At 9:30am, as the sound of Jiang’s knocking on the cargo was finally heard, [his cargo container] had already been stacked in the first column, eighth row, and fourth level, at a distance of 20 meters above the ground. Picture is of the police lifting the cargo containers above Jiang’s cargo container.

According to the person in charge [of the cargo station], workers had began stacking this batch of cargo containers ever since 6am that morning, the batch of containers having been custom-made for a U.S. company, and to be shipped to the U.S. the next day. Picture is of Jiang’s cargo container being lifted off.
