Drunk man arrested after being subdued with taser at Chin Swee Road

The police used a taser to subdue a drunk man who was causing trouble at Block 52 Chin Swee Road at about 4pm on Monday.

Here is the statement from the police:
On 31 March 2014 at about 3.56pm, police responded to an incident at Block 52 Chin Swee Road after receiving a call about drunkard men causing nuisance.
Upon police's arrival, the officers observed three men drinking alcohol and behaving rowdily. The officers tried to engage the men when one of them started behaving in an aggressive manner by shouting and charging towards the officers.
Despite repeated warnings from the officers, the man continued to charge at the officers. As a result, the officers had to deploy their taser and eventually managed to subdue him.
The man was subsequently placed under arrest for disorderly behaviour and suspected consumption of controlled drugs.
The 47 year-old man will be charged in the State Courts on 2 April 2014 for disorderly behaviour in a public place under Section 20 of the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act, Chapter 184.
If convicted, he may be liable to a fine not exceeding $1,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one month and, in the case of a second or subsequent conviction, to a fine not exceeding $2,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months.
