The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) said on Thursday (Oct 8) that it has arrested a total of 81 people during a three-day island-wide operation.
In the operation that took place between Oct 5 to Oct 8, the CNB seized drugs estimated to be worth more than $314,000.
They included about 3kg of heroin, 495g of 'Ice', 326 'Ecstasy' tablets, 64 Erimin-5 tablets, 42g of cannabis and a small amount of new psychoactive substances (NPS).
26 drug trafficking suspects and 55 drug abuser suspects were also arrested during the operation that targeted syndicated drug trafficking activities.
In a heroin haul at Woodlands Crescent, CNB officers raided a hideout and arrested four suspects - two Singaporean women in their 40s, a Singaporean man in his 60s, as well as a 36-year-old male Malaysian.
The CNB also busted a drug ring located at Jurong West and arrested six suspects after tailing a Singapore-registered car that met with a Malaysia-registered lorry.
Investigations into the drug activities of all the arrested persons are ongoing.
If found guilty of trafficking over 15g of pure heroin or more than 250g of methamphetamine, the suspects will face the death penalty.
The CNB said that 15g of pure heroin is sufficient to feed the addiction of about 180 abusers for a week, while 250g of methamphetamine is sufficient to feed the addiction of about 185 abusers for the same period.
