I urge people to be vaccinated against Covid too. However stay clear of the mRNA variety for as long as possible.

This Fauci character has zero credibility. He's the one that said that masks were not necessary, then said they are necessary, then said at least 2 are necessary.

He also praised NY for getting the covid response right when it turns out they got it absolutely wrong. Governor Cuomo is now under federal investigation for his sins.

His predictions regarding lockdowns have been way off too. He condemned states like Florida for lifting the lockdown but it turns out Florida has done way better than NY.

White House health advisor Anthony Fauci has praised New York for its handling of the coronavirus pandemic, saying the state responded “correctly” to bring its outbreak under control.
“We know that, when you do it properly, you bring down those cases. We have done it. We have done it in New York,” Fauci said in an interview with “PBS NewsHour” that aired Friday evening.
“New York got hit worse than any place in the world. And they did it correctly by doing the things that you’re talking about,” he continued.
New York was once the epicenter of the outbreak in the United States with more than 10,000 new cases a day during its peak outbreak in April. The state has dramatically reduced daily new infections to 776 as of Thursday.
New York is one of nine U.S. states that has the virus under control, according to the tracking project Covid Act Now. Less than 1% of New Yorkers tested for the virus were positive Thursday, down from a high of more than 40%.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo instituted some of the strictest reopening requirements in the country, insisting that stay-at-home orders remain in place and many businesses remain closed far longer than states that are now seeing surges such as Texas and Florida.
More than 400,000 New Yorkers have been infected by the virus since the pandemic began and at least 32,463 people have died in the state.
New York City is scheduled to enter phase 4 on Monday, the next stage of reopening that allows outdoor activities like zoos, outdoor films and gardens. Indoor restaurants, bars, museums, and malls will remain closed, Cuomo said Friday.
“I’m so proud of what New Yorkers have done. But we must continue to be on alert,” Cuomo tweeted.
Cuomo has warned of a potential second wave of the coronavirus, as dozens of states around the country grapple with a spike in the number of confirmed coronavirus infections after reopening rapidly in the spring. Last Sunday, Florida reported more than 15,000 new infections, more than New York during the peak of its outbreak.
In his comments Friday, Fauci addressed the surges around the country, urging people to wear masks and pushing for the closure of bars to limit the spread of the virus.
“Stay away from crowds. Close the bars,” Fauci said. “You appeal to the people in the local areas, close those bars. They are seriously the — one of the major reasons why we’re seeing [the surges].”
“And I think, if we do that for a couple of weeks in a row,” he continued, “I think we’re going to see a turnaround, because we know that that works.”
The coronavirus outbreak has spread worldwide, with more than 14 million confirmed cases and over 597,000 deaths, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. The U.S. has had more than 3.6 million cases and at least 139,302 deaths, according to the latest tallies, more than any other country.

Cuomo Is Finally Under Investigation for All Those Deaths in New York Nursing Homes by Bronson Stocking
Bronson Stocking

2-3 minutes

Democratic leaders in the New York State Senate are moving to strip Gov. Cuomo (D-NY) of his emergency powers. The move follows news that a federal investigation is currently looking into the governor's coronavirus task force and its abandoned policy of sending covid-infected patients into state nursing homes.
The probe by the U.S. attorney's office in the Eastern District of New York is reportedly in its early stages and focused, at least in part, on the actions of the governor's task force in regards to coronavirus deaths in New York's elderly care facilities, the Times Union reported.
"I have said from the beginning that this is more than a nursing home scandal, this is a criminal coverup corruption scandal at the highest levels of New York State government," Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) said in a statement.
An aide for Gov. Cuomo admitted last week that the Cuomo administration withheld data regarding deaths in New York nursing homes from state lawmakers because the governor's administration purportedly feared how the Trump White House might use such data against the state.
Rep. Stefanik called the probe "an important first step toward justice and accountability for all New Yorkers" and said subsequent action was needed by the state legislature.
"In light of this news, the New York State Legislature must immediately revoke the Governor's emergency powers," the lawmaker wrote. "The State Senate and Assembly should immediately issue subpoenas to the Governor and his senior staff."

Democrat leaders in the New York Senate are answering the call. Democratic efforts to scale back the governor's powers were already underway but, according to The New York Times, have gained momentum in recent days as more damning revelations come to light
New York Attorney General Letitia James published a report in late January finding the New York Department of Health underreported COVID-19 deaths in New York nursing homes by as much as 50 percent.
The Senate's measure could be voted on as early as next week.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the government’s top infectious disease official, said Monday that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ decision to fully reopen bars and restaurants in the state is “very concerning” and could lead to an increase in coronavirus infections, which would be more dangerous with the flu season on the horizon.

Last Friday, the Republican governor issued an executive order removing restrictions on bars and restaurants that had prevented them from operating at full capacity.

“Well, that is very concerning to me, I mean, we have always said that—myself and Dr. Deborah Birx, who is the coordinator of the task force—that that is something we really need to be careful about,” Dr. Fauci told ABC's Good Morning America on Monday.

Fauci added, “When you’re dealing with community spread, and you have the kind of congregate setting where people get together, particularly without masks, you’re really asking for trouble. Now’s the time actually to double down a bit.”

As of Monday morning, there have been at least 700,556 coronavirus cases and 14,031 Covid-related deaths in Florida since the start of the pandemic, according to a New York Times database, although case count and hospitalizations have been trending downward recently.

Over the past week, there have been an average of 2,401 cases per day in Florida, a decrease of 4% from the average two weeks earlier.

When asked about the United States as a whole, Fauci said the country is “not in a good place,” as some states “are starting to show upticks in cases and even some increase in hospitalizations” and that “you don’t want to be in a position like that as the weather starts getting cold.”
Key Background:

The World Health Organization has advised local governments that, prior to reopening, positivity rates in testing should remain at 5% or lower for at least 14 days. In Florida, there is a vast discrepancy in the reported numbers. According to Johns Hopkins data, the current, rolling seven-day average positivity rate is 10.6%. However, the Florida Department of Health database states that, as of Saturday, the current two-week rolling positivity rate is just 4.2%. Democratic state Sen. Linda Stewart told the Orlando Sentinel that she was “not that convinced that the statistics [on coronavirus] are being reported in an accurate fashion. I hope they are. . . . I just don’t—I don’t really think we need to be playing politics with public health.” Stewart added, “I’m not terribly convinced that we’re ready for this right now. And if the governor wants to move forward in this fashion, we will find out in three weeks if we’re ready.” DeSantis explained that he believes imposing lockdowns, “where society flounders, people are out of work, kids aren't in school—that is not going to work. And that’s not the way forward for us.”

Tangent:

When asked about the potential of a nationwide lockdown, Fauci said, “I would really like to not go there because it causes so many collateral issues and problems. . . . Obviously, if things really explode, you’d have to consider that. But we want to do everything we possibly can to avoid an absolute shutdown. In other words, get the cases under control by the commonsense types of things that we’ve been talking about all along, those public health measures.”

Critical Quote:

“Some of the top economists across the country have told Governor DeSantis in no uncertain terms that the economy will not recover until he gets the virus under control,” said Sydney Riess, public health fellow with the Florida chapter of the Public Interest Research Group. "Yet, the governor is preventing potentially life-saving restrictions while Covid-19 cases are still well above the levels that health professionals deem safe for reopening.”

When you are successful in the united states, you will be a victim of a political hack job ..You don't have to believe in these fake news.

Uh than take wat? The AstraZeneca? The tiong or the russkies ones?

The risks associated with vaccines using tried and tested technology are known. There is a chance of adverse reactions but they are few and far between.

With mRNA it's about inducing cells to create their own spikes. Nobody knows the long term consequences.

Fauci can be trusted? He should be in jail.

Fauci says his mask stance was 'taken out of context' by Trump
BY NATHANIEL WEIXEL - 09/30/20 03:36 PM EDT

The country's top infectious disease doctor Anthony Fauci said President Trump's claims about his stance on the benefits of face masks were "taken out of context."

In an interview that will air Thursday on ABC News’s “Start Here” podcast, Fauci said public health officials did not recommend people wear masks early in the pandemic because there was a shortage of personal protective equipment for health professionals.

"So the feeling was that people who were wanting to have masks in the community, namely just people out in the street, might be hoarding masks and making the shortage of masks even greater. In that context, we said that we did not recommend masks," Fauci said.
