My Computer has gone several time upgraded. Seems to me the inbuild graphic card is starting to fail me.

Can brother here let me know where can i get a self assembled desktop with a budget less then $500. I do not need the computer screen. Any recommendation ?

aiyo...check out fuckwarezone.com for the pricelist of every individual part and head down to Sim Lim Square.

If you willing to take the risk, you can try the back alleys on 5th level, the shops there do refurbishment and may have 2nd hand parts. I think that for instance, CPU dun really need to be brand new.

Fuwell is one of the more reliable shops in SLS.

If your montherboard is relatively new no need to replace. Just buy a dedicated graphics card. AMD(ATI) Radeon cards are quite cheap.

I assemble mine in 2005 ... now using windows XP ( reloaded ) professional version.

You think it old ?

the cheapest diy shop in sls is tradepec. just a word of caution, the ABNN smell very strong, worse than his comrades. the ABNN music blast at full volume, hear longer can go siao.

Fuwell, Bell are reputable stores but cost slightly more than others when building a pc.
if TS want to save $20-$30 more on his diy pc, get from Tradepec, Bizgram, Best Bargain...

I rather not take the risk. The repair costs, transportation costs and black faces is not worth the discount. Penny wise, pound foolish. Fuwell is selling a new CPU that is only $540. Specs are pretty decent, just that graphic card is on the low side. Should not be a problem unless you are into gaming. In terms of car, it is equivalent to a Toyota Yaris, just enough.

I am suggesting cos' i thought you were on budget. MB is better to be brand new. I remember there was a time when I played with overclocking, until juices flow out of the capacitors on the MB.
Another thing which is a big concern,CHASIS. $500+ i think they will give you those auto spoil your PC parts type...:D

yes , you are right. The hussle to bring the PC to the shop just to get repaired is just not worth it. I just need simple configuration. It for office use.

for about $100 u can get a decent graphics card like the nvidia 9600GT which is more than enough to play high def movie files at 1080i, has an HDMI out and can play most games except the high spec ones.

Only you can answer whether its too old :)
What do you want to use it for?

I'm using a 10 year old Apple iBook to read this forum.

Have a DIY I7 Intel machine with 3 24" screens which I don't dare use for casual surfing :o
