A DISHWASHER was jailed for four weeks yesterday for gross indecency and giving false information to the police.
A district court heard that Muhammad Noor Izuan Sa’ad, 23, and a co-accused, Timothy Ang Ah Sai, 49, unemployed, were seen behaving suspiciously and entering a toilet at Mustafa Centre on Nov14 last year.
A security officer went in and found a toilet cubicle locked with both men inside. He alerted security. Both men were detained when they came out.
When Muhammad Noor was interviewed by the police, he lied that Ang had molested him. As a result, Ang was placed in lock-up for 12 hours before being released on bail. Muhammad Noor eventually admitted it was he who committed an indecent act on Ang.
He could have been jailed for up to two years for committing gross indecency, and jailed for up to one year and/or fined up to $5,000 for giving false information to a public servant.
Ang was sentenced to two weeks in jail last month for gross indecency.
