SINGAPORE — All the man wanted was an hour-long body massage, but this was cut short just minutes after it started when he rejected a masseuse’s offer to provide him with sexual services.
Yu Shi Qi not only refused to continue with the massage after the rejection, but she attempted to turn the tables on Mohamed Mizouni, a Tunisian national, by falsely informing the police that the 38-year-old had molested her.
The police later discovered that the 41-year-old Singaporean had not only lied to them, but was in fact providing massage services despite lacking the licence to do so.
On Monday (Dec 23), Yu was fined a total of S$12,000 after she pleaded guilty to operating the unlicensed Fu Man Tang Relaxation and SQ Beauty massage parlours at Far East Plaza. Yu was the sole proprietor of both establishments.
An additional charge over her provision of false information to the police was taken into consideration in sentencing.
The court heard that Yu had approached Mr Mizouni on April 25 last year when he walked past Fu Man Tang Relaxation and asked if he wanted a massage.
The man agreed and settled for a full body massage that cost him S$50 for an hour.
However, barely three minutes after massaging Mizouni’s shoulders, Yu told him to lie on his back and then proceeded to ask if he wanted her sexual services. He declined.
But instead of continuing with the massage, Yu ended the session there and then, sparking a dispute between the two over what Mr Mizouni felt was unacceptable service.
Mr Mizouni then proceeded to complain to the building’s security officer, who assisted him in calling the police.
Yu’s charge sheet showed that during a police interview, she had told the investigating officer that Mr Mizouni had outraged her modesty by grabbing her chest.
The document stated that Yu had done so as she knew it would result in Mr Mizouni being investigated by the police.
Subsequent police investigations on Yu’s massage parlours found that they were unlicensed. Despite that, investigators had walked in on one of Yu’s employees massaging a customer in SQ Beauty on Sept 24 this year.
Yu, who was unrepresented on Monday, tearfully told the court through a Mandarin interpreter that she was sorry for the inconvenience caused, and that it would be her “final brush with the law”.
She has since deregistered her businesses.
