Scarcely a year passed since the elections where we saw our dear leeder LHL got on his kneels and apologized for the mistakes him and his PAP government did to Singapore, begged Singaporeans to give him another chance, vowing to correct and treat Singaporeans better, apparently old habits and thinking die hard and now he started sprouting the same usual nonsense we all heard for the past 10, 15 years:
Singapore PM Lee warns fewer foreign workers will spark inflation, slow economic growth
In the first place, there was no debate nor discussion in parliament on opening the floodgates to foreigners, no minister came forth and took accountability for this decision made without Singaporeans' approval.
And when it happened, it affected all Singaporeans' quality of life, especially those at the lower and middle tier, as they see their salaries stagnate, declined and working conditions deteriorate (offered only contract positions with no bonuses or medical benefits facing the threat of immediate layoff anytime by the company, working even more overtime or unpaid overtime just to keep their rice bowls, working in sweat shops crammed together with no dignity), faced discrimination from foreigners in their own country (we all seen how they employ their own kind), see our infrastructure collapse from the massive unplanned influx, such as SMRT.
And to rub salt into the wound, PAP instead asked Singaporeans to change ourselves and integrate with the foreigners? This is the equivalent of asking the Japanese or Korean people to change themselves to suit Indians or Pinoys.
Did the so-called growth benefit Singaporeans? No!
It only benefit companies and the government who made ever more money to pay obscene salaries to their CEOs and Ministers on the backs of ever-cheaper labour.
His statement now not only showed that his apology was false, insincere and probably made without any idea of what him and his government did wrong - A totally out of touch, arrogant, over-paid, underqualified person paid one of the world's highest salaries.
In fact, it is PAP's liberal uncontrolled immigration and lax regulations that caused the mother of all inflation in Singapore -- The Great Housing Bubble, where we saw housing prices went up by more than 3 or 4 times in the short span of 5 years which drives up the cost of living, rental and costs of doing business in Singapore?
Why didn't LHL mention his "GREAT ACHIEVEMENT"? Why is he still harping solely on the link between workers and inflation? In his simplistic, insect-mentality mind, low wages mean low inflation, the cheaper you can get your workers, the lower inflation will be, despite skyrocketing property, transportation and other business costs. Perhaps he should walk his talk and reduce his band of merry ministers' salaries to third world levels - maybe that would help his "inflation" concerns?
His lack of empathy and concern for Singaporeans, coupled with his selfish and greedy self serving views, insincere apologies and incompetency (All the problems we encountered happened during his watch and he doesn't take accountability nor responsibility for any of them. For instance, was it HIM that approved the uncontrolled foreigner influx without discussion or approval in parliament?) - means he is unfit to be the leader of Singapore.
He is the real problem and time bomb that Singapore is facing.
