The amount spent by PAP candidate did not include the sums that were spent by the Peoples’ Association that lend their grassroots workers and PA assets to campaign for the PAP.
Similarly, there were the vast amount of ink that was used to print “large than life photos and words” of the PAP candidate that appeared in the various newspapers owned by SPH and headed by a PAP appointee.
Finally, the cost incurred by Media Corporation would need to be accounted for – when they sent their reporters into the field, as well as the broadcasting teams that manages the daily TV and Radio reporting of the various events with extra-publicity given a positive spin to the PAP Candidate.
Despite all the huge resources poured in to support the PAP candidate, the Hougang residents should be congratulated for keeping their faith with the Workers’ Party throughout the past few decades.

according to tre, pap spent $14K on food. His food caterer, if I remember correctly Stamford foods, may have caused him votes among car owners of hougang when the caterer illegally park the truck and blocking residents from going into the car park. Then the caterer driver got into a shouting match with a resident when the resident chided him for blocking the way. I watched with glee when that resident farked the caterer, liddat confirm loses votes.
