'Dice King' Breaks Guinness Record For Stacking 40 Dices Vertically
Like building a tall tower, the higher a pile of dice stretches, the more difficult it is to make stable.
Stacking 40 dices together is an impossible mission for the vast majority of us, but not for Ye Jiaxi.
The young man was awarded a new Guinness world record in the city of Xiamen on Tuesday for
stacking 40 dices vertically in a few seconds, using a long plastic tube.
Ye loaded 40 identical dices into the transparent tube, and shook it back and forth before he suddenly
stood the tube on a table. The tube was then slowly lifted, and all the dices inside were aligned vertically.
The new record was announced legitimate and effective after notaries at the Xiamen Lujiangdao Avenue
Notary Public Office examined the dice and the dice pillar stood for more than 5 seconds.
The previous record was held by Hu Hairong who stacked 32 dices.
Ye became interested in dice in 2005 when he watched a dice documentary on China’s Central Television.
The car sales man then employed his spare time to do push-ups and other exercises to strengthen his
arms, and practiced his dice skills.
Ye bought the dices and transparent plastic tube, and started practicing day and night after deciding to
challenge Hu Hairong’s record in 2010.
