Puzzling that AVA can't trace microchip supplier of lost husky

STOMPer Jaclyn finds it strange that the AVA could not trace the supplier of the microchip this lost dog was found with, even though it is supposed to be the body which authorises suppliers of microchips.

Said the STOMPer:

"A few weeks back, we found a female Siberian Husky estimated to be 6-7 years old.

"We soon also found her to be sick with tick fever. This Husky we called Baby has a microchip number 7020 5555 000 4685 but her owner had not licensed her with the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) or Petcall.

"We wrote to the AVA with high hopes that the supplier of this microchip can be traced, as all suppliers of microchips for animals are authorised by the AVA.

"Once we trace the supplier, we would then be able to trace the vet clinic the microchip was supplied to. And then hopefully, trace the owner of this sick Husky. Who looked likely to have been abandoned as no one responded to Lost Notices nor called SPCA for this dog.

"A week after our first email to the AVA, I received a call this morning to say that they could not trace any info.

"To which I was very surprised, disturbed and disappointed. I have just been told by the body who authorised suppliers of microchips, that they could not trace the company who supplied this particular microchip.

"It is akin to a country who cannot trace the Identity Card numbers of its citizens. Or a Club who could not trace the membership numbers of its members.

"I am puzzled. I hope the AVA would explain this situation to the public."

AVA needs to be investigated for negligent and not professional in their conduct .

Or there are some things they would not want to be let out .

You are saying that you are charging but sure measures cannot be followed up .

The more we shall dig them .
