Edit
It is a shame that PAP supporters have resorted to smearing Dr Joseph Ong using an unverified sex clip to get back at Temasek Review on the Facebooks of Young PAP and MP Tin Pei Ling and even more deplorable that the moderators have allowed the comments to stand. The case is currently under police investigation and the culprit will be arrested soon.
Joseph was made a scapegoat and target of a witch-hunt by the media because he is the only ‘public face’ of TR whose editors are all based overseas. Two years ago, Joseph invited me to invest in a growing socio-political blog as part of his new venture into the media industry. He has always been entrepreneurial and has started and run a few businesses in his free time. I declined the offer as I was too busy in my traineeship. I believe he was more of a ‘business manager’ of TR than being actively involved in its editorial content.
In the ten years I have known him, Joseph has never displayed any signs of political inclination, activism or ambition. On the contrary, he was politically apathetic and chose to spend his time in volunteer work during medical school days. He was a volunteer in Dover Park Hospice and led a few overseas humanitarian missions to Myanmar where he helped built a medical center for a rural community. These projects continued to this day under the auspices of the NUS Volunteer Action Committee.

3. Dr Joseph Ong’s article in Singapore Medical Association news
Professor Goh Lee Gan, the President of the Singapore College of Family Physicians and several other senior doctors can attest to his character, integrity and professionalism.
PAP supporters should vent their anger directly at TR and not Dr Joseph Ong. Being supporters and members of the ruling party, I expect more decorum and sensibility from them.
