Decomposed body found near bushes
BUKIT MERTAJAM: The decomposed naked body of a woman, believed to be in her late 20s, was found dumped near bushes in an isolated area, about 1km off Jalan Berapit here.
The woman, believed to be a local, was found lying face down by police at about 10.30am.
State CID chief Senior Asst Comm Zahruddin Abdullah said police believed the woman could have been murdered at an abandoned guard house about 20m from where she was found.
“We believe she was dragged to the scene based on the bloodstain trail,” he told reporters at the scene yesterday.
“We are investigating the cause and motive and have not ruled out the possibility the woman was raped,” he said.
The body has been sent to the Seberang Jaya Hospital for post-mortem.
