Is there a difference between these two words?

QUESTION
Is there any difference between “dateline” and “deadline”? Are these words interchangeable?

ANSWER
“Dateline” refers to a line in a newspaper article that gives the date and the place of origin.

“Deadline“, however, refers to the date or time a task needs to be completed.

Given the different meanings, we should not use these words interchangeably.

Dateline refers to location - like the International Dateline

DEADline means when your boss sets you a due date, and you don't get it done by then, you will be dead - that is why DEADline.

Dateline is something you can find in the Pacific Ocean. Deadline is H-hour. But dateline is more appropriate for H-hour. Otherwise, why this confusion?

2. for a short while, i thought that you turned ah sam leh!
3. england suddenly so "powderful" meh.

Deadline means you DIE DIE must finish your work by this time.

Dateline is something like a 1900 number for you to have a hot date with a girl on the other end of the line.
