All 3 trained in law. If you need a lawyer to save your life in a criminal case, who would you engage? David Marshall? Harry LKY? Francis Seow?
Marshall for me.
Marshall for me too ...you know he will do a good job for you and put aside his personal ego to get the job done right.
With Harry, it is all about himself. He will use you and ditch you as soon as he doesn't need you. So, your case will totally depend on how he benefits from a win. If losing help him more than a win, you will be sacrificed.

Actually Harry was considered the better lawyer. He got acquittals for his clients for the Maria Hertogh riots murder while Marshall did not. It was also the reason why the unions chose Harry to represent them against the British Govt. The same with the middle school students and Singapore University students.
Harry does it for himself and there is no doubt about it. Tommy pupilled under Marshall and will tell you the difference.
It's no different when you choose a surgeon, you do not pick the nice one who is good to you.

Harry for sure. Ruthless, no mercy, etc.
For a capital case, I'd choose Marshall in a heartbeat, anytime. Few know that old fart abolished the jury system because of Marshall (he admitted as much in private that he'd not allow any lawyer of Marshall's talent to trump the state). Marshall was S'pore's most successive (and persuasive) defence lawyer when it comes to trial by jury, achieving an acquittal rate of more than 95%.
Francis Seow was a superb prosecutor, probably the best we ever had. His record as defence counsel was only notable for his involvement in the Marxist conspiracy.
I might choose old fart if it were a politically related case. His instinct for self-preservation, political savvy, gumption and ruthlessness stood him in good stead when it comes to taking on colonial judges.
