Daughter arrested over death of her mom

A 36-year-old woman in Beijing has been arrested over the death of her 60-year-old mother who, it is alleged, was forced to swallow mercury.
Police found the mother’s body on April 9 after being alerted by neighbors complaining of a persistent unpleasant smell, yesterday’s Beijing Times reported.
They found the body covered by a blue quilt with the arms and legs tied with tape. The mother, surnamed Liu, had been dead for several months.
