Edit
Despite losing the election, PAP losing candidate for Aljunied GRC Cynthia Phua continued to introduce herself as gMember of Parliament for Aljunied GRCh on her twitter:
The above was a snapshot taken on 18 May 2011, 11 days after the last election. Ms Phua was commenting on the new cabinet announced by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
Under Section 170 of the Penal Code (CAP 224), it is an offence for anybody to pretend to be a public servant such as a Member of Parliament when he or she is not:
gWhoever pretends to hold any particular office as a public servant, knowing that he does not hold such office, or falsely personates any other person holding such office, and in such assumed character does or attempts to do any act under colour of such office, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 2 years, or with fine, or with both.h

Based on her twitter postings so far one of which lambasted the opposition for ecomplain and talk onlyf, it is obvious that Ms Phua still had not got over her loss in Aljunied GRC.
While former ministers George Yeo, Lim Hwee Hua and Zainul Abidin have all announced their exits from politics, Ms Phua has vowed to fight on and contest in Aljunied GRC in the next general election.
In the meantime, netizens should ask the relevant eauthoritiesf if an offence is committed by Ms Phua who should have the decency to apologize to Singaporeans for the misrepresentation.
Instead of addressing herself as MP for Aljunied GRC, she should now change the title of her twitter page to:
gCynthia Phua: PAP losing candidate for Aljunied GRC, 2011
Unless a formal complaint is filed or a police report made, her eMPf title would probably be eretainedf till GE 2016, even though it is a seizable offence which the police should act even in the absence of a complaint.
