I gather from conversations that people are generally not aware how extensive these networks have become . Our resident Ang Mos seemed to be more clued in and bringing their families to enjoy these perks.

Here is the link and extract of the blurb.

"Park Connector Network
With a large interlinking network of park connectors, you can easily park hop while indulging in various fun and recreational activities.

Feel the cool breeze as you navigate your way along the roads, picturesque rivers and canals that link you to the major parks in Singapore. Hop on a bicycle, put on a pair of rollerblades or simply jog along the park connectors and appreciate the myriad of sensory delights and adventures on offer.

The new 36-kilometre Central Urban Loop is the latest PCN loop in our City in a Garden. Together with the North-Eastern Riverine Loop and the Eastern Coastal Loop, the three loops provide linkages to green spaces in Eastern Singapore. Highlighting the charm of the heartlands, the loop brings you through popular green spaces and symbolic regional parks with rich history.

As you ride or jog along our park connectors, please remember to be considerate to other park connector users. Read more about Park Connector Network Etiquette here"

If you have always given the excuse that cycling in Singapore is dangerous then the PCN makes that excuse go away. Here are some helpful tips.

1. Try and get an entry level bike within the hybrid, mountain bike or hardtail range to get started. There are loads of bike shops that have mushroomed in the last 10 years. Also give the French store Decathlon at Chai Chee a try. Not sure of the local store but in France, their range is extensive and covers all shapes, sizes and gender. What ever it is don't fork out too much, just an entry level bike as I can assure you that if you enjoy cycling, you will upgrade real soon. They also exceptionally cheap for cycling related clothes.

2. Pick a PCN that is closest to you. There are 6 PCNs covering all of Singapore and you can use the website to find the nearest entry point.

3. Bring a long backpack because these rides are rather picturesque and you would not have seen many things as they are usually hidden. Water bottle is a must.

4. If you are new to cycling, PCNs are a safe place to learn. Just be careful of peak periods and the occasional crazy cyclist.

5. There are also some irritating hazards - people walking with their families across the path. Can't beat the PRC and Indians from India on this.

If you need help on size and technicals etc, pl don't hesitate to ask. There are enough folks here that can help.

I've tried the PCN from Bedok Reservoir side to ECP and back. Shiok!

Ang mohs will cycle on the highway even if theres a 21 car pile up,dont need to suck their cocks and elevate their status.
