Woman's bag snatched
A WOMAN lost her bag and items worth over $1,000 to a snatch thief early on Sunday - but not without a struggle.
The woman, in her early 20s, was walking with a teenage male companion along Upper Circular Road towards Clarke Quay when a man came from behind and snatched the bag from the woman's shoulder.
A struggle between the thief and her companion ensued, leading to a chase in which the thief got away.
The bag, which was worth $550, contained a mobile phone worth $250, an MP3 music player worth $370 and some personal items.
The thief is described as dark-skinned and about 1.7m tall. He was dressed in black jeans and a black t-shirt and wore a ski cap with grey prints.
Anyone with information can call the police hotline at 1800-255-0000.
