Police arrested Malay serial motorcycle thieves
Police have arrested two male Malay youths for suspected involvement in more than 10 motorcycle thefts island wide.
On Monday (23 Feb), police were alerted to a stolen motorcycle parked at a multi-storey car-park in a Hougang estate.
Officers from the Ang Mo Kio Police Division then mounted an operation at the car park.
At about 7 pm that evening, one of the suspects was seen loitering at the car-park.
When the suspect approached the stolen motorcycle, officers ambushed the youth and detained him.
Police then seized three motorcycle keys from the suspect.
The identity of the suspect's accomplice was later established through follow up investigations.
He was arrested at noon today (24 Feb).
Both suspects, aged 17 and 19, will be charged in court tomorrow (25 Feb) for the offenses.
If found guilty, both youths can be jailed up to maximum of 7 years.
