Bus conductors collected money but did not issue tickets, on the old Singapore Traction Company buses and trams. When "Inspectors" jumped on board, the drivers shout a warning and the bus conductor then pass some (usually used ones too) tickets down to us to hold and show to the inspector. School boys like us usually participate happily - because sometimes, we get free rides when we tell them that we had no bus fares, and happily spend the money on cigarettes instead. One ciggie (555) cost 10cents; two, 15 cents.

What about corruption in 2010s? Where's John Harding when we need him most? :D

You mean 1 stick or 1 pack ? If is 1 stick 10cents is very ex , 20 stick a pack would cost $2 in 1960s is a lot

I believe it should be 5 cents per stick and 10 cents for 3 sticks.
