PUCHONG: Police believe they have cracked a syndicate involved in visa forgery with the arrest of three men.

The breakthrough came following a robbery on Saturday involving a 41-year-old event manager who was on her way home to Seremban in the wee hours.

Selangor deputy police chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk A. Thaiveegan said the victim was approaching the Sg Besi toll plaza at about 3.30am when about eight men on five motorcycles surrounded her car and forced her to pull over to the side.

“Some of them then robbed her of her valuables,” he told reporters at the Serdang police headquarters yesterday.

The woman told police that she then saw two men get into a grey Myvi and noted down its registration number.

A team from the Seri Kembangan police station sprung into action and the Myvi was located within eight hours outside a house in Taman Lestari Perdana.

“We arrested a 25-year-old man who was getting into the car and he took us to his two housemates, aged 25 and 26, whom we believe are his accomplices,” said SAC Thaiveegan.

“In the house, police recovered 19 passports from various countries as well as 23 company rubber stamps,” he said.

“One of the stamps was from the Putrajaya Immigration Department and there was also a belt buckle with the department's insignia.”

SAC Thaiveegan said police were now on the lookout for those who were on the motorcycles.
