Cops nab nine gang members trying to cross border

BUKIT KAYU HITAM: Bukit Aman anti-vice, illegal gaming and secret society (D7) arrested nine gang members who tried to cross the country's border at the Immigration, Customs and Quarantine Complex here at 7.30pm on Friday.
The D7 senior assistant director Senior Assistant Comm Datuk Abdul Jalil Hassan the men aged between 24 and 47 are members of the 04 and 08 gangs, were arrested while walking to the Immigration checkpoint at the complex by the Bukit Aman Cantas Khas team.
He said the men are members of the two gangs from Perak, Kedah and also Selangor.
"Acting on public tip off we arrested the men while walking at the complex. All of them were unarmed," he told newsmen.
He said the men have tattoos that showed that they were members of the two gangs.
SAC said initial investigation showed that among the nine were fighters in their gangs.
He added police believe that the men were crossing the border to remove their tattoos.
On a similar note, SAC Abdul Jalil said up to Friday, the police have arrested 4,806 people under Ops Cantas Khas and seized 10 firearms and 222 scheduled weapons.
