Cops looking for two members of notorious gang
JOHOR BARU: Police are on the lookout for another two members of a notorious gang involved in at least 16 robberies and seven house break-ins and the abduction of a woman.
“Last Sunday, the group, in their 20s, broke into a home in Kampung Melayu Majidee in the wee hours,” said Johor police chief Senior Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Mohktar Mohd Shariff.
“They then drove to Jalan Selat Teb*rau at 6am and tried to break into a parked car,” he said, adding that however, the driver managed to drive away.
He said the group then broke the windows of another car before abducting the driver’s girlfriend.
“With the 20-year-old woman in tow, they drove to Seri Alam and robbed a store there,” he said.
They then took the woman to a nearby budget hotel.
SDCP Mohd Mokhtar said after being alerted of the incident, police nabbed four of the gang members at the hotel at around 7.15pm.
He said police would soon release the pictures of the two remaining suspects who escaped during the raid.
